I watched the BBC2 tribute night to Paul Heaton. Why not, as I went and saw The Housemartins back in the day and bought a fair few Beautiful South albums and was interested in his debut solo album because a couple of Joe Strummer’s Mescaleros were involved. When he got back with Jacquie Abbott his profile seemed to rise again and I enjoyed a couple of their albums. I then read that sadly Jacqui had stepped away and he had brought in Rianne Downey. The Undertones will always have a place in musical history if they never did another concert or release another record. I had a look what Anthony Reynolds is up to now, the most recent news story was from two years ago telling us he was made homeless and a crowd fund page had been set up to help him, I am writing this the same week that Robbie Willaims has decided to be the sponsor of his beloved Port Vale because he has clearly made millions from music, and people tell me there is a God.
